We cook stuff: Blondie

This weekend we tried our hands at making a blondie. The recipe we “followed” is available by following this link. https://sugarspunrun.com/blondies-recipe/

After the relative success of our Victoria sponge last week, we were itching to get back in the kitchen and try baking some more goodies. We have been talking about making brownies for a long time but never got around to it. Instead, we decided we would give making their white chocolate cousins a go.

Much like when making our cake previously, we didn’t completely follow the instructions to the letter. For example, we used exclusively dark brown sugar instead of the mixture of sugars that was suggested in the recipe. Although we did add a small amount of maple syrup to aid with the sweetness.

Mixing the ingredients together in a bowl.

Unlike when we made our cake, there was nothing at all that we could consider an issue with the way our Blondies turned out.

We didn’t cook our Blondies quite as long as the recipe said, as we wanted the middle to be soft and chewy.

The end product turned out to be better than we could have hoped for. The blondies were a little darker than we intended, due to the dark sugar, but the taste was fantastic and I look forward to making them again; and trying something new.
